A marijuana dispensary called Canna Club at 429 Wilson Ave., near Bathurst Street, was raided by the Toronto Police Service on Jan. 10. A 23-year-old from Brampton, and a 20-year-old and 35-year-old of Toronto, were arrested. They are each facing a drug trafficking charge and one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Approximately 1,403.94 grams of marijuana leaf, 301.8 grams of marijuana oil and $1,330 cash were seized.


A 56-year-old male suspect was arrested on Jan. 12 for an alleged sexual assault at the Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa at 85 Laird Dr. in Leaside. Earlier that day, a 41-year-old female victim attended the spa to receive a treatment. During the treatment, the accused sexually assaulted the victim, who then left the premises and contacted police. The name and photo of the accused have been posted to the Toronto Police Service website, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 22.


Four homes in Forest Hill near Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue West were broken into between Dec. 28 and Jan. 3. The break-ins occurred during the afternoon or early evening hours. In each incident, several pieces of unique jewellery and family heirlooms were stolen. In one home, a 19th-century sterling silver tea set and an antique silverware set valued at over $10,000 were stolen. The tea set has unique “hallmarks” or engravings on each of the pieces, indicating their origin.
